Better systems begin with better understanding
Heading 067—pronounced “Heading Zero Six Seven”—exists to help people find direction in work that has become unclear, fragmented, or unnecessarily difficult.
That work takes two forms: services through Heading 067 Advisory and focused software products developed here.
“Clarity comes before optimization. The first useful move is often to see the work more honestly.”
Many organizations try to improve systems they do not yet fully understand. Heading 067 begins by making the work, constraints, decisions, and tradeoffs visible.
Technology matters when it reduces friction, improves judgment, or creates reliable structure—not simply because it is new or impressive.

A practice shaped between disciplines
Heading 067 was founded by Michael Thom, an operations and digital product leader with more than a decade of experience in healthcare consulting, service delivery, process improvement, technology partnerships, and the development of custom business applications.
The work has often lived between disciplines: translating operational needs into clearer processes, turning scattered requirements into useful products, and helping teams move from broad ambition to decisions they can actually implement.
Heading 067 brings that experience into focused advisory work through Heading 067 Advisory and into software developed around problems worth solving.
I am endlessly curious about how things work—and why they sometimes do not.
I started Heading 067 to create a thoughtful home for the kind of work I find most useful: helping people understand a difficult situation, make sound decisions, and build something better from there.
A useful conversation can start small.
If the work feels unclear, fragmented, or harder than it should be, that is enough of a place to begin.
